Bother!!
It's been squeeking like a trapped mouse.
Took it out, Sprayed some grease at the bearings, glued a cracked fin, put it back in the van, it ran beautifully quiet for all of a second before BANG!! ooops Humpty Dumpty now well & truly b*ggered, don't think I've enough super glue for that

Stuff you have made today

I was left alone again today. but was set a challenge. Make something out of 2 old dull chairs and a skip. So with glue, scissors and a pile of old magazines. Just finished and drying. Well glue drying. Close up. They have gone, a local gardening club parted with £££££.

I never understand why manufacturers are so inefficient at making things...usually when I fix things I'm able to reassemble and save quite a few screws and bits

Yesterday I spent the day finishing off a car seat cover that I had spent all week on. I made one or two little mistakes, mainly due to interruptions but it was nearly done. A trial fit showed that the seam around the piping was a little slack and as I had (for reasons inexplicable) used white thread on maroon piping, it was rather obvious. Not a problem, a quick whizz around with the piping foot and that will be sorted. Only I had already trimmed the selvage back and when I dropped the foot, it went the wrong side of the piping. I now have a cover with pretty lines of perforations all down the sides. Only another week to remake it and I have to wait for some more scrim foam to turn up, as I had only just enough to finish the covers in stock....

Yesterday my brand new sound bar arrived, for the tv, to make more betterer noise. Sounded like an easy fix, with 5 different connection methods available..... except the first four I tried didn't or couldn't work, no 4mm jack on the tv, no HDMI out either. I rushed down to argos to buy an optical connection cable, that also didn't work...

And during the 4th time the 55" tv was lifted off the wall bracket I pulled the sound bar off the mantlepiece..... where it fell to the ground with an expensive klunk....

Took the turret off the 4 axis lathe as there was a suspected broken spring on the one driven tool pots. Guess this was one that had issues with coolant getting in where it shouldn’t

This is going to hurt….£600 in bearings oil seals and o rings, excluding any of the 15 spindle bearings at £300 ea… Needs a complete set of gears too…
