Had to share these pictures. Lad on the scraping class made this working three jaw chuck with reverse jaws.
Really warmed my heart and found someone to leave my instrument sized stuff to

He’s a real micron accurate toolmaker and cylindrical grinder man by profession., very very rare these days
I’m so happy to meet someone like him who’s a fellow nut like me.
We’ve discussed the idea of him coming over to learn slideway grinding. With his inbuilt accuracy and pedantic behaviour I’m sure he’ll be excellent.

With the 1mm pitch I fear that would be a nightmare!
He used a Alexander pantograph. You see older Stephan gotteswinter videos and he uses a pantograph for fine work
