new standard cables coming in for 20. 24 bad news is there scrapping 1,0mm twin and earth so minimum 1.5mm cable which is a fair bit thicker a shame as lighting loads are getting less due to led lights. house insulation is getting thicker so de rates the cable current carrying capacity

well we did notice but is that correct they have been yapping on about sleeving the earth and using low smoke cable for a few years now . will ring doncaster cables up and ask the question tomorrow

Earth is always sleeved over here.

1.5 mm or 2.5mm is standard and upwards.

I found this out, I acquired a 50m roll of LSOH stuff do cable my garage, wasn't nice to strip

The cable they used is actually the new standard in Ireland. Everything is lsoh and bigger, insulated cpc. It is also more difficult to strip though.
