Hope I'm not being too obvious. Make sure the compressor is in a different 'room' to the one you are spraying in.

force fed
What compressor have you got (specs)?
And is that powering mask alone or will you run the gun off it was well as the mask.
Be sure you've not got it on a regulator airline, you really need it to have full pressure from the compressor, the built in reg will sort the pressure at the mask.
As snooper said, you need enough air to cause a positive pressure in the mask, so that when you inhale, you're getting air from the line and not from around the mask.
the compressor you have isnt really big enough to run a spray gun and an air fed mask even a 3hp 14cfm struggles to do it properly.
and you wont smell the paint but if the compressor is sucking in the paint then it will be blocking your mask filter up in no time
You need proper filtration on the air feed from the receiver to the mask or you will be breathing all kinds of stuff, oil, water, perhaps legionella even.

The compressor is oil free, would I still need this if I have a Carbon Filter for the air fed mask?

if the paint fumes of 2k were affecting u it just makes u feel a bit sickly and some fresh air generaly soon makes u feel betterThe compressor I have is like this, with two dials and a regulator to control the air. So from what I can tell mines is connected to a regulator airline.
There isn't any regulator for the mask?...or should there be?...how can I tell?

When I was using this set up, I couldn't smell any of the paint that I was lying down, which was a good sign. On the other hand I've read isosynates is odorless.
I could only feel a slight bit of air coming into the mask, just enough to stop the condensation build up on the visor.

all i said was u can tell if your gears faulty as it makes u feel a little sick. use the proper gear as said but it isnt bombproof .so now u know the efects when it happensIs that so????
I'm not sure brightspark that this is very good advice, but I'm not going down that road again.
That damn stuff can cause serious LONG TERM health problems.
My simple advice, protect yourself to the hilt, don't leave anything to chance, you should have positive pressure in your air fed mask, you should be able to hear the air coming in, and you should feel the cool of the air stream. And that air should be filtered from the compressor
Anything else can cause you problems, of which there is no cure, so I don't think it's a laughing matter really.![]()
