Hi all I have purchased a second hand welder and downloaded the user manual but am struggling to work it all out so any help would be very appreciated
So the manual covers the machine but with the front panel FP181 but my machine has FP141 so it has some different buttons I will attach some pics and thanks for your time

Page 142 of the manual shows the various symbols found on the front panel. From this it should be possible to make out what most of the functions are, when taken together with the description of the function on pages 16 onwards, or the relevant sections in other languages.

I can’t seem to get the parameters menu I wanted to reset it to factory just nothing seems to coincide with manual
I don’t seem to have material thickness setting like in the manual

There is another user manual here, which covers front panels FP140 and FP142 (but not FP141). The FP142 is closer, layout wise, to the FP141, than the FP181 in the manual you already have, so the chances are the operations described might be nearer the mark.

Thanks I have that manual as well I contacted them directly and they just sent the manual with the wrong front panel
The guys I brought it off couldn’t figure it out either

It does seem, at least from the manuals, which are not 100% clear on this, that S5 (or S6) [the push button at top right] does different things, depending on whether it is pressed: a) at power up (i.e. button pressed first, before turning on the power), b) during the power up sequence, or c) after the power up sequence has completed.
a) gives the software version
b) enters the menu, including factory reset (display should show a central "0")
c) selects the graphical welding parameters in turn, for adjustment of the settings.
It may be that a) and b) are one and the same.

I will go up have a play over weekend been welding a lot of years but new to pulse and this machine has had us seam to melt a tip with every weld so gave up started to get expensive

Have you set the correct programe number for material/wire etc...
Press top button, to the P position, and turn knob to the relevant programme... list on the left of rhe panel

Once selected, i think you press it again to the position its in now, or the top left light, then the number becomes the thickness selector using the top knob, and bottom one just fine tunes it.


If you want to use it manually, press top left button, to M, then use bottom right (think it goes in automatically) to V, to put in voltage, and I think press the top button to get manual wire speed.

Had one of these at a previous job, 4/5 years ago, used it a fair bit on ally and stainless. Almost always use in auto pulse mode, not manual.

Hi I had the right program was hoping to mainly use it in synergic mode
So the wobbly line symbol too left what’s that mean then under that is it metal thickness or ark length

Just synergic or synergic-pulsed ?

The 'spring' symbol it's about how 'soft' or 'hard' you want arc

Yes the other one is about arc lenght , normally I keep it on 0,01 or 0,02

You cannot select material thickness on this panel , just wire speed

The small knob is for arc dimension ( small and focused or bigger and flatter ) , I found 0.0 is the best for me ( I run 1,2 wire so program P7 )

You must absolutely use a heavy duty torch with double water cooling circuit that goes close to contact tip , 600 - 650 amps . Otherwise heat will slowly cook it , Selco's pulse cycle is strong but damn hot .

I am looking at a Bernard water cooled torch I only have 0.8 and 1mm wire at mo
