thats what farmers were doing with there tractors at our local garage till they were leaving a mass of mud clods all over then they chased them

I use TFR, neat or 50% diluted and stipple on.

Need to be careful and not let it dry though!.

I use Kerosene in my parts washer & for grime shifting it works well - followed up where suitable with a blast from the pressure washer (I'd love a hot one, but ain't got one).
Brake and clutch cleaner (aerosol or in a squirty bottle does alright on hard-to-access fiddly bits.

I de-greased my engine bay with TFR, a brush and Worx cordless cold pressure washer, worked a treat.

it softens paint as well as strips your skin off if u get it on your hands

A parts washer was one of my favourite tool purchases. I use a water based degreaser in it which works very well.

This was a V12 Valve cover I washed a while back



I throw anything oily in here first. Engine and transmission pans etc. Does a great job and I only change the fluid every year or so.

I do have a sketchy china immersion heater I can drop into the tank if I want warm cleaning agent.

Otherwise as others have mentioned TFR a stuff brush and a pressure washer work well. I have a Lavor Diesel Hot box too.

Kerosene!!!!. Been rebuilding auld ***** for near on 60 years.
Its water soluble!!. Its VERY good at solving stuck on stuff.
BUT scrape it by hand first. No such thing as a free lunch.

I keep old petrol I drain from tanks for body rust welding for stubborn parts cleaning tasks.

I had a 5ltr can of jizer from the late 80's out of my dad's lock up used it on a beetle gear box. Apply , soak , used brass brush over a number of days. Done the job no problem.
