Hot toddy.

I've got a filthy cold today and a friend mentioned having a hot toddy to help...
I don't have any whiskey so used Kraken rum (3 shots) added to a good dollop of honey with a drizzle of lemon juice and a couple of orange slices as I didnt have any lemon either
Wow! This is really something I could get used to!

A nice bottle of 14% red wine has the same effect , despite being from Scotland I just can’t get to like whiskey, I’ve really tried over the years but it’s not been an acquired taste for me, the western isles peaty is the worst to my particular taste, the closest I’ve got to liking whisky and I’ve tried most is Glenmorangie Pronounced Glen moran jy
It’s the alcohol of any flavour not the fact that it’s whiskey or rum heated up which does the job

Scapa is rather nice

I prefer a spiced rum for a hot toddy, brandy is nice too. A decent flavoured poteen is really nice too, especially clove rock or brandy ball flavour.

I’m with you on the Scottish fire water, it’s not nice and I’ve tried hard to like it ….

Try some Glenkinchie that’s the mildest I’ve found.

I use almost exactly the same. Off to bed much better next day
