I'm confused! Electrics, CU wiring.

Yep, phase wires at the bottom of mcb's, neutral wires to top RHS bus bar, earth LHS bus bar.

So why is there a N from the RCD bottom terminal rather than the top?

It comes in the bottom goes out the top, phase and neutral.

You need the phase and neutral by definition on an RCD.

Although all of mine come in the top, to the RCD, then jumper wires from the bottom to the top of the MCBs and 'combs' to the other MCBs.

Just to confuse things, new modern ones come in the bottom out the top.

This is correct. Thats been wired upside down

Always check the factory connections on a new cu. Don't presume the 5 year old who put it together at the Kyoto Dangerous Toy & Lawnmower Company did so.

thats back side 1st the live and neutral feed tails go to the top of the rcd the output is at the bottom the buzbar goes from bottom of the rcd to the breakers on the left and the output neutral goes up to the connection bar top right where it is connected now

Yes I took it all apart and started again. All in and working as expected. I can't safety test it so,I have my qualified electrician coming next week to go through it. I didn't do the installation so I am taking no chances where a client's caravan is concerned.

yep good boards and can be had from screwfix cheaper than the wholesalers thems the only boards i use apart from fusebox make and never had a problem

I am a massive fan of Fusebox boards and double pole RCBO's great boards!!
Used to only fit Hager and Schneider boards but the price of their RCBO's is ridiculous compared to Fusebox!
My favorite is Hager, not really changed in the 24 years I've been fitting them, second is Fusebox!

Had a few issues with BG RCBO's failing testing out the box so stopped using them last year.
