Chest freezer question

Would it hurt to store a horizontal chest freezer stood upright/on-end, for a few days? Whilst switched off, obviously.

I'm guessing as long as it was placed properly & left overnight for the oil/refrigerant to settle, before switching back on, it ought be okay?

Never had a chest freezer, or had to move one. But logic says they're probably delivered upright on the lorries to the big shed stores? More aboard that way and no stacking.

Someone sensible will be along soon, I expect....

no keep it stored flat as it would be

normal high fridges can be moved laid down but most of the stuff does drain back down not with the likes of a chest freezer

Never had a chest freezer

I got one when I moved in here, but I've realised that the 4'x2', approx., of workshop floor it's taking up, could be better used. I can readily manage without it.

Pretty much what I've understood for the last 30 odd years - and so far I've only had one die of old age.

When all the pandemic stuff kicked off three years, I dragged a old (80's) chest freezer in from the shed where it had been on it's side for a couple of year, stood it up, waited a day, plugged it in. Ran fine until I unplugged it a few months ago.
