I had considered it, even just milling down a standard bolt would have done but found some nice ones for less than it would be for my time

But yours would be unique & in keeping with the flow of the upgrades.

Made a tramming jig for the VMC - Spindle tomorrow, and doneView attachment 386571

2 rod ends and a barrel adjuster - took me less than 5 mins to get the tram bob on! Well chuffed

Some spacers

First two were the new steel off someone on here, good stuff. The other two are en3 mild steel gummy poo, which was unpleasant for parting.

I met @Onoff earlier in the week and he gave me a helical milling jig to try out. The spacers are to raise it 40mm to be on lathe center height.

Interested to try it! First attempt is going to be aluminium, and if it goes well, I will have something to anodise. Im not sure how well I can mill stainless but I found a bit of 316 I can try it with too.

Not my finest work, but knocked a couple of brackets up, as replacements for the green one. No flat bar, so had to cut strips from a piece of 5mm plate. The press-brake never even broke a sweat on those. First time I've given it a proper run.

It was good, met 4 lads down from London; a bloke who sells beer for Brewdog, a couple of lads from Hawkes ciderery and a chap from Gosnells meadery.

Must have been nice for them to find a real pub away from the urban hipster set!

Nah I havent tried that yet, I didnt want to waste it on spacers.

Started on the blank

While undersize I put a few test grooves in,then bored them off. My brazed tool works but needs very slow speed on alu and imagine it may struggle on stainless.

A base plate with a straight edge for Katsu/Makita palm routers. Quick drawing in Fusion 360 and then laser cut and countersunk.

Not today, but finished yesterday. A built in wardrobe and cupboard for my youngest daughter. She wanted it in the style of a Tardis, so I painted the doors Tardis blue and was going to paint the panelling and sign work on the doors later.

But then found a sticker that was almost the exact right size, the door width was spot on, just had to trim 10mm off the bottom of the stickers.

I used an old Yale key for the right door handle and placed the left door handle where the handle for the phone box should be. She's well chuffed

I just need to finish the ensuite you can see beyond it and build some more built in cupboards and drawers opposite the wardrobe then I can get back to more workshop stuff.

I will hopefully be able to source some reduced head ones

I've been looking for some of those for the Surf but can't find any for a reasonable price, M8 bolt with a 12mm head.
I've had to fit a couple of 13mm head bolts as a temporary fix but don't want to mess up the Surf's Karma with an unlucky number bolt!
If you find someone selling them please let me know
