What part is this ladder platform

This part is missing off my ladders I don't even know how it's lot lost just used it as a Ladder but othrrhalfs dad noted it was missing and very important part if using as a platform as your standing on it

Need to find a replacment but a quality part not cheap as my life worth more than a fiver if it broke

looking like your right guys

but i can see a problem the nut is at the top near the handle part and the shaft is hollow and the thread does not go all the way down the shaft

i can see a way round it get a bunch of washers and use a standard star handle but its hassel

It's simple to solve .
Get this style of star wheel bolt IN THE RIGHT SIZE knock the bolt out of the star wheel the head is just under the cap on the wheel , glue in a nut and carefully burr over the first two protruding thread through the nut to retain the now nutted starwheel on the bolt. or stud lock an extra nut on the end of the thread if it bolt is long enough .

The bolt in the star wheel knocks out , leaving a hexagonal hole for the nut to be inserted , super glue the nut ion , fit it on the extender/ leg leveller and knacker up the two protruding threads poking out of the nut to stop the nut being turned off or put a nylock nut on the thread if there is plenty of spare thread showing .

Knocked the bold out a star wheel this evening BTDS... On the batch of 20 bolts In had they have cheated and have reduced the amount of plastic inthe casting , now the bolt head is deep in its hex fitting down a 1& 1/4 deep round hole round hole
Earlier star wheels I've used were in a much harder plastic & had the hex hole just under the cap so it was a doddle to change from threaded star heel to a decent nut star wheel with a good inch of thread clearance .

I have some 20 AF hexagonal steel bar , will happily turn you a simple hex bar nut with thread clearance with a inch sliding tommy bar if you want .

Another thought ..disassemble the ladder leveller and see if a full threaded bolt with a standard head can be inserted from the ladder side ... you might have to grind /file off some of heads thickness .

The site has three legged hand star wheels with through thread . interesting that thy have a chart showing how much clearance shoulder there is on the different wheels .

sorry im not following what you saying it might be the item that number brings up on ebay ?

Look closely at the star wheel shown in the link I gave you , the top cap on it comes out if you tap the bolt back thorough the wheel . Sods law said different for the one I tried to knock out earlier today to show you the whole thing exploded in to zillions of bits of very hard plastic .
Had to go hunting around in my three four drawer filing cabinets tonight for the example that comes apart .
Piccies of it are on my computer if needed .

might take you up on this if i cant find any thing off shelf

dont reay want to destroy a good unit as if i get that far i could use a m10 nut and a very large bunch of washers but a pain as will have to have a spanner every time i use it

the nut is at the wrong side it needs to be at the handle side with a inch clearance to clamp the bar tight
