Iveco Stralis DTC Code

quick question- can anyone shed any light on DTC codes for Iveco please?

Iveco dealer are as unhelpful as an unhelpful thing……”computer says

I’m after a complete list, ideally but what I need short term is DTC 04 and FM1 05

I think the FM1 is open circuit. It’s an EBS light so I’m guessing it’s going to tell me it’s a wheel sensor?

Disclaimer: I don't know anything about trucks!

However, curiousity made me Google it, and it looks like your theory might be correct according to anything I could find. Apologies in advance if the below is old news.

The codes seemingly can be read from the cluster and there are separate sections for error codes from each computer. If the display for EBS errors is showing a DTC of 04, it seems likely a speed sensor problem and maybe specifically a "front axle left" - see first two links below. A DTC of 04 would mean something entirely different I guess if it appeared on one of the other computers.

It looks like it might then be "FMI 05" for fault mode indicator 05, 05 being "Current Below Normal, or Open Circuit"

I didn't find any master list of DTC codes sadly, but hope above is useful.

Light on with ign on or when you start to move?

There is a hgv mechanics facebook page that is quite good, if you dont do fb then its the dealer for you.

We see loads of ebs issues (not on ivecos we aint that silly!) fuse in main culprit, then suzie, then bent trl socket pins.

You must do work for somebody sensible.
Our main client has had a love affair with Iveco's for the past few years, and my soul dies a little bit more every time I see the piles of sh1t.
However rumour has it they're now going to Merc, as they've realised Iveco are expensive to maintain.

I found some of that, @jgr2015, but not all so I’ll give the links a read this evening.

They are bits of ****. Especially electrically. Problem is, it’s the bit of **** that pays some of my bills!

I’m not on Facebook but I can get Mrs79 to look. Although fuses etc may be a good shout to be fair.

It’s an ignition fault. Ie it’s on as soo as you turn the key one click.

He did say it was intermittent then now on all the time so I guess that would indicate an electrical fault, or component fault. Like a bad connection, or a component dying?

Usual truck ABS faults are split/corroded ABS rings, or Solenoid valves. With the occasional wiring fault/speed sensor thrown in.

Ring faults normally clear when driven at speed, unless they've corroded to the point of generating no consistent signal.
Solenoid faults generally become apparent during wet periods, as they corroded, and the coil either starts going open/short circuit, or conducting to ground.

Going by the intermittent nature becoming permanent, I'd guess it's a solenoid failing/failed, but you really need an accurate fault code description.
