Ramps for flatbed trailer

I'm hoping to build some 8ft ramps for a trailer has anybody else built ramps and what would be the best to use and be cost effective

1500kg would be the most

No idea of their max weight but ive put a loaded van on them no issues. 4"x2" box with 1" angle crosses

A few things really, are the ramps to be stowed or attached? is this a two or four wheel trailer? asking that question because without a little thought put into stabilising legs the 1.5 ton coming over the end of the ramps and onto the trailer could lift the back of the tow car off the ground rendering the handbrake useless (ask me how I know ) And lastly is whatever you intend putting on the trailer whether frontwards or backwards going to be a balanced load?

Many moons ago I made up some attached "flip toe" ramps for one of my artic trailers, simple chain or rope over a pulley wheel and they straighten as they lower.

It is mainly for putting cars on a ifor williams flat was going to add stabilising legs as well

Folded steel/aluminium channel, to the width you want, say 100mm deep, with a return fold in each side, chamber ends as required, use with flat side uppermost.

mine have done fine for the last 20 ish years - only occasionally have issues with wet/muddy tyres slipping on the flat surface (pretty much only when loading with the trailer facing uphill once in a bleu moon on a rainy day) - ie not enough to be bother about adding a high friction surface.
