If you want to make studs (threaded both ends), why do you need to start with a bolt?

Would not a length of round bar be a more suitable starting place?

BSF bolts would normally come in Grade 'R' (see: https://www.fastenerdata.co.uk/fast...ish inch sizes,a similar grade/Property class.)

EN8 bar is available heat treated to grade 'R' ( https://kvsteel.co.uk/steel/080M40.html).

The one shown in the following link is NOT heat treated, but as an example, you can buy a 10 foot length of 7/16" EN8 bar for £19.50 (https://www.steelexpress.co.uk/shop/product/en8-080m40-round-bar/).
