Daughters (rented) house has a Logic Max C24 combi boiler fitted. It appears to work well enough, except when it's running there's a continual loud whistle sound. I thought it might be air in the system, but I realised it was coming from the actual exhaust outside the house, when I walked last a week and heard it.
Googling comes up with several answers, boiler failure, fan bearings going, lime scale build up, call an expert etc. This is loud, like a train steam whistle. You can hear it clearly in the house, but outside you can hear it at the end of the street.
She going to get onto the agents repair guy tomorrow and ask them to come take a look, but I'm curious what could make so much noise. Any ideas?
ETA: turning on the hot tap stops the whistling.
