Well I wore the hiax wet weather boots tonight for out 2 hour walk. They offer great support actually and are very comfie. They are not as warm as the grisport boots though nor are they as grippy. I think the soles maybe slightly softer on the grisport boots.
My other hiax dessert boots also came in the post today. I will keep them for dry weather walks when it warms up a bit.

Thanks for all replies , the haix arrived today , secondhand /ebay , excellent condition , size 7 which I did check with the haix size chart, but seem slightly small, first impression ..very nice and well made but walking feels like your pushed forward onto your toes , like the heels are too high(so this is what women put up with !?) and also mid sole is solid pretty much but does flex nearer your toes ..hmmm, will give them a try but the tipping forward feeling I dont think will be good for my stance when clay busting . it may be just takes some getting used to but first impression is a no ..

Halfway through this shooting season and they have still coped excellently with everything thrown at them, warm dry feet and sure grip even on very icy days

Lots of black ice in my neck of the woods. I added a few screws to the soles of my thermal boots. Its worked well in the past to keep my arze from trying to do the walking. Your tip for the day.
bought some size 12 haix boots but they're way too tight
I'm normally a 12 in work boots, size 12 v12 work boots are on the big side - if someone else has my wellies on at work I can get away with a pair of size 11 - but tight but more room than the haix size 12!
I'll send them back and get some wide 13 instead
