Time for me to put up something. Have in the last few weeks been doing something that was supposed to happen, the pontoons.

Finished welding the second one. Just needs a bit of dressing and the anode mounts attached and there all done. Now to arrange collection

Ah grand, I need to make one for the Landy, sorry for the million questions but are you rolling them from flat or using tube?

Tube, you can buy it in short lengths of ebay it's expensive but let's you make a few and see what's more popular

New sewing machine. Couldnt work it out, watched YT and had beers and more YT... Eventually I had successful beads? Yesterdays test peice...

3rd pair of trouser legs repaired later (not mine)

It didnt like the thick seam so easier to jump over it.

Have a couple bits I want to repair, stretchy phone holding waist belt zipper being the main one, but that will take some more learnings..

Popped in to visit @Windy Miller and found him servicing a little generator. The clear cap for the fuel gauge which fits into the top of the tank had disintegrated and the guts had fallen into the tank. The rest of the mechanism was perfect so I offered to make a new top for him and here it is.

And really chuffed I am too! Hopefully get it fitted tomorrow along with a new O ring for the float bowl and we’re good to go - all ready for the power cuts!

(this is the genny i bought from @Machinery restorations a few weeks back by the way)

Set about sorting the controller for my microscope again (Must be about the 7th attempt now), turns out one of the channels on my dual H bridge board was dead, so I made up a new one, got my birds nest of wiring all stuffed neatly into the little box, and it doesn't work. Same problem as before, B channel is dead.

I bought a mag chuck a few years ago off a local college. Went there to buy a tailstock spindle and came away with a few extras including the mag chuck

It didn't have the key to turn the magnets off and on so made one today



Had a go at brazing the key into the round bar and its rubbish but good enough to use on the chuck

Best use of my "Mug For Scale" yet!

222 stainless steel nuts (about £9 worth) and about 2 hours to do 324 welds to hold them together.

Possibly could have done it quicker if I hadn't bothered to make all the nuts face the same way...

Partly for welding practice (which I need) and partly because I'm not welding enough to justify the cost of the BOC rental any more so I want to use up the bottle, stop paying the rental costs and switch to rent-free Adam's Gas argon. Just remember bottom tensions top and top tensions bottom.

Just remember bottom tensions top and top tensions bottom.

I am unsure what tension has to do with bottoms and tops?

I did some more sewing, attempted my running phone waist belt. Fixed the main zip and divided it into 3 seperate compartments, with two small pockets for the keys and bluetooths. Inside view.. the beads are hidden so and difficult to get at, so doesnt matter they are off..

Its a pain going close to a huge lump of a seam.

Might appear silly to repair this cheap thing but I havent seen any better ones for sale and it gets a lot of use!

I may be pinching this idea as I've two full boxes of SS imperial nuts in the garage .

Mum's asked me to figure out a way of mounting a projector above her sewing table to project cutting patterns directly on the fabric.

Not too sure what all these things are but I saw I can get replacement feet sets. Walking foot or roller type, Im told is useful for doing mtb leathers or seat vinyl so it feeds properly.
It seems a embroidery hoop could be used for sewing naughty words and pictures, so I might get one of those to play with too!

Nothing to do with those spindly multicores? I've known that style of wire snap internally if yanked too hard, for example.
