I need some advice on type of epoxy resin to get please.

I have never used this stuff, but I see it mentioned on the forum quite a bit. I understand there are various types for different uses.

I simply want to fix a round piece of wood (12 inch of a brush tail) in to a round metal hole of a 25mm conduit inspection box. Can someone advise/or provide a link to the type I need? Thanks.

Sound advice: it sounds like a pretty basic, undemanding, application. Only thing I'd add is, by default, to use the slow stuff unless there's a good reason to use the fast stuff. The slower-cure Epoxies tend to be easier to use than the 5-minute stuff (no panic about it going off before you've got it where it's needed) and they tend to be stronger.

my best single bit of advice with epoxy -

mix it for as long as you think you should
and then, when you think you're done...
mix it for at least as long again

I've never noticed epoxy in pound type shops. In fact I've seen it anywhere in any shop. When I go in these type of shops, I tend to walk around slowly looking at most things there. Obviously asking one of the shop staff is the obvious thing to do. However, out of curiosity, what does the packaging tend to look like? Is it something like a couple of toothpaste boxes, or maybe a small tin and some activator?

either a pair of small metal tubes, in that clear plastic on card, or a "double" syringe on the same.

Double syringe is easier to measure the correct quantities out. Just remember to put the cap on the right way round!

Usually something like this (brand name will change from cheap shop to cheap shop)

The idea of a syringe for measuring seems to be a good method of measuring. I guess a new syringe is maybe required after using? They are cheap enough from our local pharm.

Anti-squirrel bird feeder. 2.4mt of 25mm diam galvanised conduit. Inspection box screwed on to top of 'conduit pole' . This provides a left and right 30cm piece of material to hang a bird feader. Coat the pole with some gear oil I have and don't need. The quirrel cannot grip enough to climb and it certainly won't go rusty after trying.

Two short pieces of threaded conduit would be easy, but I don't have any more. Hence the 30cm brush tail & epoxy idea each side of inspection box. Plus, I get an opportunity to use the epoxy that I have never done or seen. So another bit of experience for me. Always keen to learn.

The syringe is both the container and the measure. The two chambers are linked by the mechanism so as they both expell at the same rate.

You don't mix the stuff in the syringe. It stores the product until you mix it.

I managed to get some epoxy resin yesterday. What sort of container do you tend to use for the mixing? I had initially thought about the top of an aerosol, but being plastic probably not a good idea?

It will be fine. Just don't expect to put it back on the can. I've used all sorts. Offcut of wood for the thicker stuff. takeaway containers, jam pots, Throw them away after use.
