Help needed with Migmate please!

Im new to the forum and welding to hi to all.

Im building a track car and thought id learn to weld while doing it. My friend kindly donated a SIP Migmate that he had sitting in his garage.

Dead spiders and all, I plugged it in and flicked the power switch, the power light lit up and thats it.

Its not doing anything else Ive pressed the trigger and nothing happens at all.

Also, it looks like the tip has been soldered in place, is that right or do I need to replace the torch?

Your help would be great.

is the fan powering up?... should be on at power up.

take teh tip iff the torch & see what happens it unscrews. If its been soldered you will need a new swan neck & tip, if the rest can be made to work

does the wire feed at all if you connect the earth to a bit of metal?

Surely it should feed wire even if you don't?

Click the power switches a few times up and down - they aren't very good quality items and sometimes they look right but aren't making any contact and absolutely nothing happens then from my limited SIP out of the box memory!!

Thanks for the replys, its just not doing anything, no fan, nothing.

The only thing it does is the power button lights up.
