Is that the name for it?

I’m looking for something, and an applicator as I don’t own a glue gun, that would stick a small metal object to a card for shipping which can then be peeled off by the recipient.

Think bank card on the letter they send you.

Tape is a consideration but I’ve a lot to do and that’s fiddly.

Blu tack perhaps, may not have enough stickability if it's a heavy object though.

I’ve always been under the impression (maybe incorrectly) that they used silicon type sealant for the bank card application.

That would be a good solution. Cold as well which is a bonus for this job.

I’ve 6 per pack to do and probably 100 packs in the first order.

Speed is one thing but I’d rather it takes a touch longer and I don’t get any back. I’ll look at wax. Would tick the eco box as well.

Cling film isn’t a bad idea as I need to protect the paint.

There is an aerosol product from 3M called "Spray Mount", they describe as an adhesive that allows for repositioning, which I use occasionally. I suppose it is similar to the adhesive on 3M 'Post Its' in a can.

3m Command Strips, would be ideal as you say for this job.
