He said the surgery. Never mentioned if there may be a pharmacy nearby. Living in the middle of nowhere doesn't automatically imply nothing nearby.

I don't know if you will do any better with anyone else. Was listening to the radio in the car the other day and a pharmacist was on talking about shortages of medicines like he has never experienced before - if Lloyds can't get them nothing to suggest anyone else can either. Might be worth making specific enquiries to any potential supplier about their ability to source the medicines in question, at least then you can check their customer service response times.
Did you try any local pharmacies to see if they offer a delivery service? My pharmacy has a van on the road doing deliveries in the local area for folk that can't get out, not sure what they charge. There are also a couple of man with van services who collect prescriptions, shopping, etc, I think their charge is slightly less than a taxi fee.

Hi, I had a similar problem a while ago, I was given a prescription for two drugs. I went to four or five pharmacies all saying they couldn't fulfil it, the last one told me the problem was one of the drugs is no longer available and they aren't allowed to part supply the prescription. She said to go back to the doctor and get them to prescribe a different drug, which I did and he said he was unaware of the issue. All sorted.

The nearest chemist is about 14 miles return but once you set up the arrangement where the GP sends prescriptions to the online supplier, they are very unhappy about any changes. The GP surgery runs its own pharmacy and they really much prefer you get the drugs from them. Seems from the comments above that there are some shortages. Given the huge profits the drug companies make, if they are struggling to do business, that's a pretty worrying sign of the times.

The mrs had something similar with a shortage of her epilepsy medication so quite important and not something you can do without, anyhow after weeks of being messed about by the pharmacy it turns out what they couldnt get was the 50 pack of tablets but the 25 packs were fine and available

My pharmacy is brilliant, if I've run out of something & the GP hasn't sent the script they will give me some pills to keep me going. They ran out of my insulin a month ago but were able to get some from another pharmacy for the next day.

It all Lloyds chemists around here, they are totally useless. The chemist are shut quite often at they can’t get the chemist (won’t pay?) the assistants have been walking in droves as the treatment from the firm & also from dissatisfied customers is so poor. Three times they have got my prescription wrong, I have to check it every time. I walked past earlier & a notice in the window ’we are unable to process any prescriptions today’ I would go elsewhere but the choice is limited.

Post Covid, I switched to Methotrexate injections thru the hospital…..supplies are handled by a meds supplier Alcura, ….all was good for the initial switch over, then supplies were not forthcoming had to go 3 weeks without! and I ended up going to hospital to the dispensary for help….then out of the blue, 3 deliveries scheduled over the next few months..hope you get it sorted..

I been spending allot of time collecting prescriptions for my elderly parents for the last year - Chemist they were using was hopeless - so I changed the Chemist and the new one is not allot better to be honest. It is just closer and has better parking out the front.

I've stopped trying use Lloyds; they just cannot supply one drug, which my nearest chemists say they on the shelf. Meds through the post worked really well when Lloyds had the meds, but when they are having trouble getting them. my impression is they just don't care.
