Just had my Aldi band saw delivered. All ok but bed feels a bit flimsy. Anyone here made a new sturdier one that makes mitre adjustments a little easier? Would love to see if you have.

Sorry I can’t help at the moment but thanks to your question I just ordered one should be just the job as a dedicated saw for head rails and weight bars for blinds for my wife’s soft furnishings business

I dont remember what the vice is like on these but I have the aldi ferrex one, I modified the vice with some m20 threaded rod to replace the knurled rubbish that it came with.

Tighten up the pivot if its sloppy. I cant remember if it came with theust bearings or If I added them after.. it now has thrust bearings on the pivot..

The vice is different now, its threaded.
