Unless I was in a production scenario, CNC is something I'd never want, personally.

Doing it manually is far more gratifying, IMHO, when your wage doesn't depend upon it.

Does a bigger workshop count?!

Failing that there’s loads. One is hard to pick.

High on the list of stuff to buy is a drum sander for de drossing plasma cut bits and a slip roll.

Slip roll would be more useful. Drum sander just make work nicer.

I’d like a 5 axis CNC mill, mainly just to learn how to use it

For several reasons.
You can cut everything metal or not .
More precise
Less heat
And yes it's cooler

3d metal printer. Got some at work doing valve bodies. Impressive tech but niche market. 316L and fully dense, weldable and machinable.

We've had a few bed sets ground on a waldrich Coburg. Very nice finish. We used to have a large Waldrich Siegen planer with grinder attachments but it wasn't a patch finish-wise to the coburg.
