What’s the best 150-200 amp welder generator portable welder. Been looking at the mosa’s, weldbaby, Pramac and the Lincoln outback. Or is it better to find a good second hand one.

We have 2 Mosa units old now but. have not had to meany problems

Mosa units are alright, but how the lads used to use them at my old work was as follows:
1. get the mosa welder out
2. get the inverter stick welder out
3. plug the inverter into the aux power
4. weld using the inverter

The actual welder side was rarely if ever used... nothing wrong with it, just not as nice to use as an inverter.

I personally have a small genset power generator engine driven welder.
Nothing wrong with it (no electronics)
I can say , just take what you have nearby .
I would go with mosa, genset or Lincoln .
What's closest ... Your choice .
They are all good the difference is made by the user either talking about performance or reliability.
Just take care of it whatever you decide to buy

If he goes for the gasoline engine.
Diésel I'd go with Kubota ,Lombardini , Yanmar , something known and reliable

So the small welder generators aren’t as nice as a Modern inverter welder?

have a honda 390 200 amps,never used the welder on it,runs my kemmpi 2oo no prob
