mig welder advice.

about half way through a defender body rebuild. no problem with that but recently had a pacemaker fitted. would like to know if anybody on the forum has had the same and do they still mig weld. the welder is a 180amp. can gas weld but getting acetaline i think would prove difficult. anybody had the same problem and how did you get over it. No they are 80% rust and 20% missing ,,,,

Ted it's worth doing a "search" (top right of page) as this has been asked before and had various answers.

I think from memory is basically its ok , the unit will be grand , but you have to run the idea past the consultant who fitted it , they check with the manufacturer of that unit .

So basically ignore everything written here and else where and ask the guy who screwed it in.

We have a guy who works for the nhs fixing such things stays in our cottages quite regularly. I asked him the very same question. Got a very very in depth long winded answer, roughly translated “ should be ok, but speak to your medical bods as different devices respond differently to different things especially the older stuff”.
