Removing a hydraulically actuated pin

Need help removing this sleeved pin ,so I can change to manual one,as I don’t change implements regularly and it’s stopped working.
As you can see I’ve taken the circlip off it’s groove,yet even though I can rattle the sleeve in the hole,something’s holding the whole assembly. Tips please?

Can you see the end of it? Could it be a burr/swelling?

Merlo locking pin? Should just be remove circlip and take hyd pipe and fitting off and it should knock out the bottom.

Merlo,I think something stops it in the other direction,with the clip out,there’s resistance against it withdrawing from the headstock.

With the clip out and the pipe and adaptor removed it should drop out the bottom, if it's tight it might have been damaged or possibly the headstock nipping it.

Just realised that’s not going to come out,as I can’t actuate the pin,the implements still attached,I’m going to have to find the reason the switch/hydraulics aren’t operational.

Does yous have a electric switch to swap from 3rd service to pin?

It does have a switch but it’s not original,as the joystick one failed prior to my ownership,you hold one and flick the other,I suppose via relays,beyond my knowledge,so I’d thought I’d simply change to a hand inserted pin,not so straightforward! Thanks for the help.

I think its only a spring loaded pin so you should be able to push it up without the hydraulic pipe attached enough to get the implement off then hit it downwards

That's how most work, one switch to activate and second to send the oil.


@s410man it's spring loaded but reasonable strong spring, however unscrewing the big cap off the top of the assembly might release the spring, there's a 19mm bolt inside that holds the ram together, that should let you get the piston out the ram and attachment off,
