No cutter supplied either - so just an xy table and a water bath.

It's actually everything except the plasma, so computer, control box, cabling, licensed software and console. Add the plasma cutter and it's basically plug and play, unless I'm very much mistaken. And the manufacturer is on the end of the phone should you get stuck!

It'll cost you £2k to build one to the same standard (new parts, not bargain opportunities on ebay)... that, and around 100-200 hours of your time, depending on how handy you are with things. So another £4k in labour.

Software is bugger as well.

Rob (xtreme) has done ‘sommat technical’* with the skin on Mach 3 so it’s got all you want and not a lot you don’t need.

* my understanding of the voodoo involved

I am not suggesting it is a rip off. They all start around that price. It's just many people have had good results going down the DIY route.
Time is the killer obviously.

We recommend the r-tech p50cnc with the table but you can also use hypertherm ,GYS etc ,not all manufacturer's tables are built to same quality as ours ,check out the facebook group Xtremeplasma and google reviews

I have a powermax 45Xp on mine. Plugs straight in.

I have the money, I have the space, just cant think why Id use it, but I want one.

I make a reasonable turn over with mine as a stand alone thing - weather vanes, fire pits, garden stuff, etc etc.

It also contributes by profiling for other people. I did 50 angle plates the other day for someone. Did a load of parts for some sub sea thing. Got 110 turf slitter blades to make this week.

It makes me money by complimenting the engineering / fab side of the business as well. If I need a bracket or a thing or a load of bits cut to weld together it saves loads of time.

Not sure I could justify it on that basis alone but it’s a timesaver for sure.

I've always fancied a cnc plasma... but seams silly to me to go for anything less than an 8x4 table.... might as well take full standard sheets? less waste etc

If I was buying again I’d have got the 8x4 one 100%

Good thing about these is they’re modular so it’s an upgrade in my to do list.

As a toy it is expensive. As a business you would want an 8 x 4 version. But there has to be rich retired people with the space and money I guess.

Just not me (yet) sadly.
