Thought some folk would be interested to follow this one:
As a follow on from https://www.mig-welding.co.uk/forum/threads/just-bought-another-bike.124614/
Got the bike home today, it is a bit tatty but sound mechanically:
Chrome is good appart from a patch on the tank, paintwork is rough:
a broken head fin( looks like the tax is out ) :
a few dings on the front mudguard and fork shrouds, but nothing too serious.
Came with old log book:
MOT's from 1977:
a pile of receipts for engine and gearbox rebuild parts plus :
It came with a 54 parts book, so I have ordered a 55 one from the National Motorcycle Museum (only £8.49) and an original 55 workshop manual.
So a few wee jobs to do, mainly just cosmetic, I am delighted, starts easily and sounds sweet.
