I think if you have a DC arc you can use this to make a DC TIG. Last one went for £53.50 plus postage.

this looks like the sort of hf unit that one use with ac to weld ally, but it will be very usefull with dc as well you have gas controle a rimote and hf spark start .

yes you can run dc hf tig from a dc power source "Christmas trees" as there known as. work fine however no A/C although the welding firm I use does sell A/C D/C sets but then you need a A/C D/C power source and it will only be fixed amps because the foot pedal needs to control the power source as well as the H/F. Better off with a decent inverter really.
