Sounds exactly the kind of tit @Parm likes taking down … absolutely no idea how to do his jobSo after a couple of weeks of trying to sort a machine out for a job to be done at work, it would of came to be a very useful addition to have lathe, tis would of covere3d welding wit it as a position welder and also making bushed etc as when needed and other jobs now and then.
I designed a cracking set up for tube welding, Foreman was happy and the boss.
Then the `H&S` prat got a wift of it and first thig he said was ` oh a lathe, can be dangerous, folk leave the chuck keys in` a bit risky.
We cant afford the risk.
I me mentiond a tripple pillar drill set up we use every day and for all the work we do. must be 1960`s, has no emergency stop, not a brake stop and the stop start lever is above head height.
All he could say was
`Oh its to costly to fit an emergency stop to the drills`
My god you need to put them in reverse to stop them, and they are beasts to use. takes a minute or so to stop. dam dangerous IMO. And everybody else who works there.
If this is H&S these kind of folk can stick it.
And i have gone from being a driver to working in there. Atleast i get to fab some stuff and do maintenance work.
