Discovery 3 vs 4 - tow bar questions

So the missus has a range rover sport (which is basically a discovery 3)
She's replacing it with a discovery 4

I fitted a heavy duty fixed tow bar to the sport and a land rover 13pin electrics kit.

Does anybody know if I can just swap these from the sport onto the D4?

Looking online they seem to offer 13 pin kits for either the 3 or the 4 so maybe not.

The 4 currently has 2x7pin caravan sockets fitted so if it comes to it, can I just remove these and connect the wires to a single 13pin socket or is there a compelling reason to spend out on the proper kit and swap the whole lot over?

Final question, it tows various trailers with both filament bulbs and led bulbs fitted.
Anything on the D4 that doesn't like that?

the two sockets plug into the look behind the pass side rear light cluster ,,, not sure if they are interchangeable ,, I just put a rear x member into a disco 4 at the weekend due to wear in the removable tow hitch socket .
The customer is a builder and just tows anything and seems not to have bother with led lights

My best advice is to contact PF Jones of Manchester, I’ve had all my tow bars/electrics from them and some for family too…
They know their onions…

I'm almost certain not, as the has much more advanced electronics than the 3.

The customer is a builder and just tows anything and seems not to have bother with led lights

Looking at the looms for the d4 I'm not seeing a fuse box so I would presume they are not easily swapped.

The d4 has caravan plugs already though so I can't see any reason I can't just swap the wires to a single 13p socket?

Ref the towbar play, there was a recall from labdrover over this as the sockets were suffering from wear.
The basically fitted a new xmember and the heavy duty fixed version of the towbar foc.
But I had already fitted the fixed one by the time I got the recall letter. Not sure if they are still offering to do it?

thats correct on both counts ,,

re the recall , I advised the guy to chase the recall ,,, LR told him it was inspected at the time and it was within tolerances then ,,, few years on and it had almost half an inch of play in it , and had just about worn the locking / locating pin away to nothing ,,, the cross member wasnt that dear ,, but the actual hitch part is.
My guy got a brand new take off for 60 quid I think ,, he was lucky ,,,
if it wasnt for those two harmonic balancing weights it would be handy enough ,, even allowing for them it was in and out in a day.
