Have you added the bird muck & dust to the total weight?Elf and safe key stuff & all that
The amount of stuff we carry in the boxes the 1500kg is more of a guideline than actual weight.

Today I mostly made a bucket of holes. Polo got the idea from me
Customer supplied 24 plates with the 4 mounting holes in. My job was to put the ovals in them. Basic jig knocked up on table which is the purpose of this post really.
Just putting the idea out there.

Got some hauler plates in to skim, I was going to do the smaller set last week but ran out of time, glad I did as it means I only have to clean the cast iron from the lathe once 
Big plates are bleeding big, each weighs around 35kg and about 480mm dia if I recall, bit of a lift to get onto the lathe and in the chuck but a lot better now I have the foot switch as it means I can hold with both hands whilst clamping.
Just starting.
Couple of passes done, still need another to take the final wear off the taper.
All done.

Another weight set between rear faces will make it a lot safer if you have any reasonable weight in the vice.
As it is, to me it looks to be very front /jaw end heavy

It's actually very stable surprisingly, the added weights will be enough for what work I'll be doing on it. The jaw end is actually set back a bit as it was very front heavy, so I set it back to distribute the weight etc. I had a third disc and I was going to use it on the base as a triangle base. However it's footprint ment whacking my foot against it when I use. Thanks for the pointers all the same.
