It's an odd thing Brad but that valve got stuck a few years back, again half way through a job, and I pulled it all apart and rebuilt it with loads of pictures and posted them on Madmodder - but for the life of me I can't find them. I have the book of words though (attached)

Nothing wrong with it, from the colour you have allowed it to overheat to 300c+ and the brazed joint has let go. Braze may have a melting of 600-950c but the working temp is only upto 250c, they all loose strength above that. Not many burrs are solid carbide, branded or not.

Push back together and can be re brazed with silverflo, its fiddly, the tip will want to shoot off from the flux expanding - even if its dry flux powder. Gentle heating wont hurt the cutting edges and clean up in citric after.

Feel your pain, had to have my 16 year old dog put down last month.

Not the best of times, but has to be done.

So sorry to hear this. It's not easy, we've been through it. Try to remember the good times, the fun and pleasure your dog gave you. 17 yrs is a good innings. You'll have plenty of fond memories to look back on...
Sounds like he's suffered towards the end, but now the pain has stopped and he's at be rest. RIP.

It is yes, the person who owned the house before us was disabled so it is all level access outside

The people that fitted my £600 tripple glazed door say that a very low or simple rubber bladder strip threshold isn't available. I have to have their 10 mm raised aluminium one which has made the mean height 22 mm. The joystick electric wheelchair I use has difficulty coping with it even with a 5 mm sheet of ply with a rubberized mat stuck to it , inplace on the inside of the hallway as I have to use creep mode on the chair to get along & out the narrow hallway

made up an adaptor so i can run a rothenberger off a big propane bottle
hacksawed the threaded end off its disposable bottle and silver soldered a hose tail on it , worked oiland chalk into the theads to stop them scaling
