I put a post on here recently about buying this MaxArc Mig 200 , I knew it had a fault ( would turn on and feed wire but wouldn't arc ) but as it was only £50 I took a chance . It had been running on 3 phase - the plate on the side said it will do single or 3 phase , it's set up as 3 phase when the chap I bought it from demonstrated that it wouldn't arc and now I need to get it running on a single phase so i can start to find the problem ( hopefully something like the contactor ) . I was expecting a straight forward way of switching from 3 to single phase , like you'd find in a big electric motor - where you re-position some screw in tabs to alter the connections . The cables come in , one to earth the other three to three big fuses ( hopefully there are some pictures attched ) Any ideas ? I will be getting someone to look at it at the weekend , but would like to hear from anyone who's had any experience with these . I know it's old and not very fancy , but I don't use a welder all the time and wanted a second one where I'm building a Short curcuit racing car . Many thanks , regards Al.
