......something similar has happened to me too: I remember hearing a young 'Cymro' pass an unpleasant personal comment about me (in Welsh) as I walked past; he thinking I was "foreign" (which I am, actually).....I immediately turned and spoke 'firmly' to him in Welsh and asked if I knew his Mother from the Merched y Wawr (a bit like a Welsh 'Women`s Institute') which I`m not a member of, but guessed that his Mum would be.....he blanched (visibly) mumbled an apology and his mates 'ribbing' completed the job I`d started.
How on earth do you begin to learn welsh? it looks to me like someone has tossed all the letters of the alphabet into a bag and pulled them out at random. Must be great to reply to the natives when they think you don't understand'

its easy if its your first language and i dont mind the english pepole round here as long as they accept the welsh way and many english pepole round here accept that and we get along well and most of them try and learn welsh i know i couldn't do it and i respect them for doing it!
