To be honest that was my first thought, or it was in the way of something, I can't see why you would go to the trouble and expense of felling that for no reason.
I'm no tree hugger either btw, I quite enjoy felling trees but that one is a bit above my skill level

It died last year Fred and its removal was going to be a deal breaker on the sale of a house, none will be wasted. The chip,chogs and sticks went for biomass and the trunk went for milling.

I would give my right arm to be able to weld like that... actually I wouldn't as that would make it even more difficult. But you know what I mean!

GOT THE HANG !!! What are they going to be like when you get any good at it??
If you have a lot of them, maybe a little rotating table to put them on with a centre finder pressing from the top to keep the fittings in place.
Anyway they look very nice.

That is actually what I have a a ground anchor for the bike, welded through a 10mm sheet of steel.
