A fragile label is no good it needs to be packed properly, unlikely it would have survived better with any one else. A single thin skin cardboard tube is completely inadequate.

When I was at royal mail, anything fragile was given the throw test, everything is - its how the mail centers are set up!

You are not wrong, I had a trailer on the other week and someone asked, "what will you do if you need to turn around?" The idea that I could reverse the trailer up was totally alien to them.

Last time i helped my uncle launch his R.I.B we had to wait at least half an hour while 5 middle aged guys tried to launch a small sail boat, 4 to give all different instructions to one poor guy trying to reverse it down the slip,
In the end they gave up, un hitched the trailer and tried to man handle it down instead.. guess how well that went!!! ha ha ha!
The trailer ended up half on half off the edgeof the slip, one guy had to get his shoes off and wade in to rescue it!
Once the slip was finally free i had the r.i.b in water within a few minutes....
One of them came over and said 'youve done that before!'

all i used to do was unstrap my speedboat it had a length of rope fastened to front of boat and the back end of trailer loose then back down the slipway fairly fast and when trailer in the water bang the brakes on and boat rolled off in to the water one man job

I would be more concerned it he parcel gets there.

i sent this 170cm x 115cm x 20 GRP canopy on the over a week ago and today i was asked for detaisl from the couriers as to what they need to look for as in size, weight and description.as they have lost it . when they had it from the start.

i give up on these idiots.

sorry off topic but shows to take out insurance on item as i did for the seller at twice its value.

Had a call today from a guy I had bought something from and he wanted to know the name of the street my house is on, they have everything else but for whatever reason UPS can't work it out

They have the address as they have already queried it separately but surely property number and postcode? No?

I had a return booked in with TNT for Tuesday to pick up pallet.
No show Tuesday and Wednesday.

So it was rebooked as a new job with TNT for Friday

FedEx driver just showed up a few minutes ago, explained they have been assigned the route by TNT as they have now merged.

Then he goes on to refuse to take it because it is a pallet not a box.
The best bit? With a straight face he says "you need somebody like TNT to pick that up, they do pallets", all while holding the TNT consignment note in his hand….

You couldn’t make it up.

Thanks for that, another one to avoid (parcelfarce, royal snail, dhl, tnt and ups are at the top of the list). I dont remember recieving any fedex.

Bought a bit of steel plate from ebay seller, he normally sends things hermes, got a parcelforce tracking this time. Two days later and the tracking number is still not recognised. The local driver is a thieving git, too.

Much prefer hermes, tracking is reliable and they have drop shops well sorted.

However just past the hermes depot, there is a cycle path. Each time I use it some of the biggest rats Ive ever seen run accross the path, about 20 of them!

Dpd and a few airline catering firms just round the corner and likely how they got so big... :O

and after they have had your parcell in the depot for over a week and it hasnt moved acording to the tracking and they ring you up and say the tubes inside are broken and have to phone the supplier to get some more delivered. they came the next day

Cant blame hermes for bad packaging. I have worked for a few of them, seen how stuff is treated, all equally bad.

when i did get them they were in bubble wrap in a rather large box even though they were only 2 foot long .some clown must have stood on the box

It's when you open a box and discover layer upon layer of bubble wrap . . . work down to the item . . . sat completely un-protected on the bottom of the box . . . maybe damage only comes in from the top . . and the box is always sat the right way up?

Shock horror, I've had a Yodel delivery this morning (09.15), package intact, very quick - only ordered from Amazon (coming direct from Amazon partner) on Saturday evening - it's arrived before the other 2 items which are prime.

Bigger problem, this is the new HDD for the computer, but the new larger external drive - for backing up - is the prime delivery, and the van didn't leave Peterborough till gone midday.

To be honest when I got the email from Amazon yesterday to say the HDD was coming via Yodel, my heart sank, but I have to say I'm impressed.

People do it all the time. It's nuts!
I had it with my lathe topslide. Lovely strong box. Loads of padding. All on top nothing at all underneath. Amazon do it as well. Even with hard drives

Amazon prime arrived 14.15 as I was rubbing down some paint work, so didn't start full new backup till mid afternoon, sh1t, I'd forgotten how long a 1TB back up takes with windows 7 Back up & Restore including a system image.

Royal Mail is no better.
My son sent a welding screen to a guy.
Over a month later he posts saying he does not want to open a case but where is his parcel.

Checked the tracking and it says its been returned to National recovery center. Postie informs me its in Belfast.

Still waiting for its return.


However more info was sent by the buyer that they had major problems with their post and the Postie has been sacked. Which begs the question why was he going to open an eBay case??
