Friends of ours were given a 4/5 person hottub inc a fancy shed to put it in. Leccy bill went through roof, lasted a season, the next yr it was 'special days'. not been used in the last 4/5yrs.

My guess is a heated Jaccuzzi has to be better than just a hot tub ?

Got to admit I've never quite got 'em . . . sharing a hot bath with other people . . . admittedly, some you might like to, but others . . .

I’m not seeing how keeping fish in a boat would benefit the floor, transom or stringers, maybe you have very strange friends?

We were accidentally sent a Bathtub and were told we could keep/dispose of it. Sits in the garden and gets upturned a few times a year, filled with water and the wife sits in it in the sunshine with a G&T and a paperback. I did wonder about somehow adding a heat exchanger and a log burner.

Other days it has been used to wash Tarps, Sofa covers and to colour dye clothing. She won't let me turn it into a Citric Acid de-rusting tub.

Small change, pal of mine has just helped his neighbour remove an electric AGA: £15 a day to run

Cheaper to order takeout from a good restaurant than make dinner on it.

They are normally used on the night storage heater type tarrif too!

I know of a power supply going spare that's capable of heating / boiling 12 tonnes of water in a couple of hours if you're interested.

Mind you needs a 3 phase, 400A per phase to run it...

the chemicals are a ball ache untill you get used to them but i used a despencer that sat in the tub made it a lot more easyer

i was looking after a good mates tub but i was over there for 20 mins every couple days sorting it out untill some one said about one of theses instead of putting a x amount of chorine in every day etc you throe a few tablets in and use the twist bit at the bottem to open up once you get used to it over a couple weeks i found 4 tablets and open 1.5 slots used to keep the water at the right chemical mix then all i had to do was do the ph and foam stuff so then after i found this one i only needed to go over 2 times a week and not for very long either

Exactly, all people aspire to in the UK is to own/rent a house, as soon as they get the house all they want to do is cook and bathe outside, WTF is that all about?!

I thought the whole point with it being hot was you could use it all year round, I've been in hot tub in Alaska in the winter.

Some friends of ours bought a house with a really nice pool and a brick built pool house. Sounds great but apparently it can actually devalue a house significantly.

The previous owner told them that one year he decided they would all like to swim on Xmas day, I think it cost about £300 to get it up to temp for that day and that was probably 15 years a go, I dread to think what that would cost now.
