Copy of Bradburys is your best bet - there will be one in the library. Do you get to London much? The silver vaults is worth a shot. They are actually quite helpful even if you're not buying / selling.
I know very little / nothing about silver but my Dad collected it. especially Spoons / tea sets. I have all his books somewhere............

Is it silver or plated, got a yellowy tinge to it?
Pretty common to put few random stamps on plated stuff to make them look like the real deal.
Sorted through a box of 'silver' spoons a while ago. Spent a while looking at the marks, deemed mine virtually worthless in their condition.
Not saying yours is.

Silver, as a metal, is so incredibly cheap, vs gold (i know this is irrelevant with regards to the OPs question!)
Gold today is $59.64 a gram, whilst silver is $0.71
They're always in my head as both being "expensive" but the numbers above are, to me, always astounding, as they're really not comparable in anything other than fantasy stories! : )

It is a nightmare trying to identify real silver from plate. I wanted to make some jewellery a bit since from silver forks and teaspoons and I never dared buy any because folk try and pass plate off as sterling.
