It was going to be a Stilton and walnut loaf, but......

Too much yeast in the mix, methinks. It emptied itself out over the top of the inner pan, flowed down onto the element and filled the kitchen and hall with smoke...at least I know the smoke alarms all work.

Spent last evening cleaning up

. Have to get on to the grass cutting today, it's not stopped raining for days and it'll be up to me ankles soon.​

Any idea how much yeast you used ?
looks more like you added too much cheese and it has sort of souffled up and then collapsed as the cheese lost its moisture content.
suggestions from an amateur, use less cheese or add more moisture (steam) to the oven during cooking.
Or leave the cheese out completely, it’s awful stuff and should be eradicated from the food chain
