Well, for brushcutters really. A surprising variety. Double blades, tripple, quad, saw blade types with varying numbers of teeth, plain or TCT, and probably many I've not encountered yet. Oh, multching blades too.

I’ve got a blade for my brush cutter very good and I feel safe using it.
Corresponding guard? I did try hay cutting with a guard, didn't get much done. It requires a great deal of attention, guard or not. If I had to choose I'd rather work with someone employing a good deal of attention than a guard. The guard only helps to limit the direction stuff is flung off the blade, it does very little to preyent someone cutting your legs off with the thing.
Info get what you say and not arguing at all with your knowledge , I just know my fs55 wouldn’t even entertain a metal blade , it struggled to get it up to speed then had a sort of backlash as the blade tried to overtake the engine speed . My caster brush cutter spins up no problem .
My response is that I haven't found a brushcutter blade as suitable to the purpose as the TCT saw blades. The Stil ones in the earlier link are expensive, have too many teeth of a less effective profile, are lacking the TCT (which adds immensely to the service life) and one of those offerings they quote over 70 bucks for!

I wouldn't use one of those for clearing; they don't cut through thick stems (thin trunks) on broom and brambles. Best are the tri-blades or the ultimate, mulching blades.Rather than looking for an adapter just buy a clearing saw blade. Basically the same thing but intended to fit the strummer In the first place

Anyway, they're very effective against respectable sized broom, though I wince at the force the machine is subjected to. Best is that I can just run back over a lot of stuff to multch it and have far less burning to do than I used to.
yep and the circular chainsaw ones with the rear guard fitted and the distance away from the operator its hardly going to be dangerous even if you trip over as soon as you let go of the trigger it stops and is buried in the grass

Ah, sorry, a bit of confusion there; you were talking clearing saws (which, the ones I've tried, don't work well on green broom trunks) and I was talking mulching blades, which will chip their way through broom trunks up to three or so cm thick quite effectively.
Reminds me the time a Filipino deck hand asked me to make a saw blade adaptor. He gave me the sizes and I knocked it up quickly then went to see what he was cutting...
