Got my TIG welder last week...almost sorted with the gas, rods and gas pipe.
Although I'll be doing my own ally bits, the first thing I need is a workbench for the garage -due to an ever growing collection of motorbikes, space is compromised. A lot.
Anyway, I was thinking of using mild steel box, 25x25. I'm aiming for 2000x450 and a work height of 900mm.
I was planning on using 8mm plate on top -I would like to mount a large vice, then I can use it as a general workbench and welding table. Is that overkill?
I'd love to have my (small) compressor and the welder itself under the bench, and I should have room for the bottle in the space to the side.
If you guys have any hints/tip/can spot obvious problems, please let me know.
The bill for materials is coming in around £160 -good, bad, bargin?
