Im reguarly getting work on diffs.
The output shafts and inut coupling were originally plated. As there are bearing surfaces i cant replate.
So ive been doing them with Jotun 87 AL, the greyish/silver version. Thats great from a longevity aspect, but looks "unconvincing" compared to how it was when new.
Having run some through the aqua blaster, with a bit of effort, them come up really nice. Im thinking that a clear coat of some sort to stop them rusting, would give an end result rather closer to the finish of zinc plating.
My past expreinces of clear straight on to metal was olished wheels. Never lasts. However this is not polished.
Suggestions? Ideally a 2k product for longevity, but consider anything?
