A seed tray from scrap that should take 50 little pots for my runners. Stainless screws / panel pins and white Gorilla Glue. Routed a couple of hand holds. 1 coat of yacht varnish so far.

I made some swarf but little else it is the start of an ER32 collect chuck for the Raglan. I like the idea of making something with the machine itself. It is also the first time I have got to use the 4 jaw that came with it.
I love the power feed in both directions too! It will have an internal 6tpi 1.750" thread (not acme, but a half depth square thread) with the taper and ER thread on the other end

Did some more renovation work on the downstairs bathroom in the old house we're restoring. I painted and installed the new vanity cabinet, installed the granite top, installed the lav/sink and waste pipe, and had the plumbing inspected by our local code enforcement officer, who signed off our plumbing permit. Also repositioned the pendant lights closer to the wall; those will serve as the vanity lights over the mirror. We still need to install a mirror, linen cabinet, medicine chest, towel racks, etc., but those items will probably have to wait until a few other projects have been completed.

Also had the rough-in plumbing inspection done for the upstairs bathroom (bidet, bog, shower, and lav).

Yet another set of flange pins
Medium sized, with M8 thread, so fit anything anything from a 1" LKB valves to DN250 flanges.
Getting boring now. Just one more set, and that all my orders of them done.



Technically yesterday... folded up and fitted edging for a 4m x 300mm flower bed. Should last, 316 stainless steel with welded corners.
It was cheaper than a roll of that log roll stuff.


And finished off this little pacman ghost yesterday too...

So pleased with how theses doors look compared to the temporary cover.

I had grand plans for an 8'x4' train layout that got hoisted up to the ceiling using an electric engine hoist in the loft space. The hole in the middle of the table would have gone round the ceiling light.

Did the board, bought the engine hoist and did a few sketches to have sheave blocks up in the loft etc and a suspension wire coming down to each corner of the board.

Never happened. I let work get in the way. My lad's 23 now. Kick myself every day for not doing more with him.

I bought a couple of sets of metal workshop drawers last week, but they are a bit low, so decided to build a frame to raise them up and also form more storage.

Quick, get two coats of dark green smoothrite on those welds before anybody sees them! most of the welds were ok but there were a couple of shockers. I seem to be getting variable results from my MIG, Sometimes it crackles like frying bacon nicely, then suddenly it will start popping. I thought earth issues to begin with but I'll give it a complete going over soon.

I've put the adjustable feet on and started installing the sliders. They went on nicely with pop rivets. Just need to make a prototype drawer. The trouble is my holey table for cutting sheet material is covered in carp

Sorted, and I've just had a good idea about where to put the spare blades for mitre and table saw. I can't put anything that protrudes much on that wooden partition as the guide rail for the track saw needs to lean on it, but spare blades won't take up much room.

I have lots of OSB offcuts, so made an OSB drawer, simple glue and air brad construction with battens inside as OSB isn't good at taking fixings, Its a good job I made a prototype as the drawer needs to be 5mm shorter to lift the drawer into the slider. Given the cost of sheet material at the moment, I shall make another 5 drawers from the OSB offcuts. You won't see the ugly side join when the drawers are shut and with a suitable handle or hole to pull them out then they are good enough for power tool bins.

Cut up and crimped the ends of some 70mm welding cable for a mates project

Some neenaws.

Not much to see but there’s 7 connections down the left side. When each is shorted to ground it plays a different mp3 file (names 000x.mp3) via a 3w speaker. The mp3s are on a microsd card and the whole thing runs on 5v.

There is another mode where it can use one button for Play/Pause and another for Next Track (up to 9999 tracks) BUT it seems that by default when it powers up it starts playing. I might be able to bodge that by having 0001 be silent but I haven’t tried yet. It would mean a bigger variety of neenams though.

Had to knock up a part in Fusion 360 and then laser cut out of acrylic today. It was for one of our Science Technicians. He said it had something to do with DNA Testing. To me it was a bit of plastic that he lost and needed another.
