Opie oils

Time for a 10000 mile oil change on the trusty Freelander 2, just about to click over 90000 miles. It takes 6 litres of oil inconveniently and being a dpf model it is quite particular in its choice of lubricant, C1 spec, low ash etc. I had a full 5 litres of Millers C1 in the garage so just needed 1 litre to complete the job. I ordered it last Sunday via Opie oils and I'm still waiting for it. By comparison yesterday I ordered some Autoglym and Meguiars products via Amazon and they were delivered today, Sunday!
Had an email from Opie seeking my feedback and strangely suggesting that if I hadn't received my order yet I should contact their customer services. Poor review duly left and a curt email dispatched. Really can't see how any UK delivery should take more than a week nowadays

Very odd. I used them recently and they were quick and efficient. Service kit sent by DHL and arrived as expected.

I would hazard a guess the issue lies with the carrier rather than Opie.

Currently impressed by Richard Shrive Cars ltd and their oil shop. Quick, well packaged, very competitively priced Millers oils I use in several of my cars.

I used to go to Millers site shop in Brighouse, but when its cheaper elsewhere . . .

Opie oils generally have a rep for good service.

Likewise, I typically buy from them through their eBay shop, delivery has never taken long.

Never had an issue with Opie, most of my stuff arrives next day, even the specialist damping oils, etc.

in my experience, most couriers are pretty crap right now, pallets and parcels :-(

pallet line just lost a million plastic bags I ordered... it's 3 pallets... how'd you lose 3 pallets with my address stuck all over them?

ok... thy might go in the wrong direction or to the wrong depo and turn up late.... but nope, they lost them, gone forever :-o


I send out a lot with parcel force, bit heavy boxes... the lose at least one a week... and because they're perishable (frozen) goods they don't cover them with insurance etc.... they just refund HALF of the post cost? half? why half? they lost them and didn't deliver them at all!
