I was sticking some metal to a rusty MG today. I used 0.6 wire at 18v and 5m/min. It was 0.8 sheet i was sticking on.
I was using a kemppi 180 but settings could be similar for the Jasic.
Those are my "go to" settings for 0.6 wire and rusty cars. As the others said. Lots of smallish welds.

I welded my sons Mk2 with a Sealey MightyMig150 which took a very long time. The worst place for rust is the front chassis members as you can't see it until it basically falls apart. The problem is due to the requirement for a crumple zone which Mazda achieved by making the chassis double skinned. the rust starts between the skins and the first you know of it is a small rust bubble which turns into this.
