Good luck. If it's a skill you enjoy, you'll do well and you will always be in demand.

A bit late to this party, but after 14 years I’ve just succumbed to redecorating the kitchen, which now has pattern coordinated curtains, noticeboard and oven gloves
I miss my uncle Arthur, he decorated our first house for us, used to come round after work and do a room in an evening whilst we were cooking him dinner. He was resident decorator for the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, did Princess Anne’s first house for her.
I get that a lot, I added my left hand little finger to the security list and an optical scan which never seems to work if i have safety goggles on.Why I hate decorating, because after sanding wood my fingerprint is non existent, won’t open my phone home screen, and logging into online banking is impossible for around 4 days.
I like that, great ideaI get that a lot, I added my left hand little finger to the security list and an optical scan which never seems to work if i have safety goggles on.
i hope you have good knees most plasters i know they are knackard at 50My friend is a decorator. He seems to love it.
I cant stand decorating, however, plastering i actually quite like. My decorator friend has been telling me for some time that i should do a plastering course to get confident enough to quote out on it (i currently just do it for free when friends want it)
Anyway, my decorator friend has known that we have been struggling since brexs#it and has prompted me to do some training. Went for the interview a couple of weeks ago, and was accepted*
6 week, 9-4:30 5 day per week British Gypsum sponsored training starting at the end of next month.
I suspect I'm going to be dreaming skim by the end of it!
*its not a beginners course, hence requiring a skills test prior to acceptance.
I have recently come out as loving decorating..here is my float at decorating pride..

It came from a factory clearance the used it for picking orders, it is perfect for.lugging my tools around and as a small set.of steps.Love your "float", where did you get it? I could use one.
It is always about the prep work same as car painting, for many rooms now we use quality masonry paint as it covers well and you get a matt finish which wipes really well, tbe matt finish does not show up brush strokes so easy like silk.Called the painter back as several areas that should have been caulked were only half done - door architrave and beading, he was there 10 mins, said XXXX will be in tomorrow to paint it. SWMBO went to check it and found that he'd still missed bits. FFS between this and the above, that's another painter and decorator we won't us again.
Mmmmmm my fathers family used to own a contract painting /decorating company at one time employed 165 folk in the 60s. Did big offices Dhss places like that. My old man reckoned there was only a hand full out of the 165 they would let loose in a house. Now very few have had any formal training, and want to be in and out as quick as possible as everyone wants cheap, filling sanding etc all takes time todo it properly, therefore costs money. Its also harder work than sloshing emulsion on with a big roller.Called the painter back as several areas that should have been caulked were only half done - door architrave and beading, he was there 10 mins, said XXXX will be in tomorrow to paint it.
