No.Late eighties , early nineties was my time.Never had any hassle from anyone, infact I went to a few bike rallies on my scooter with a mate who was a scooterist and also a biker.Owned a couple of rd350's in my time which I rode to a couple of scooter do's.

I bought an RD350 new in 1976. It was the last of the old model just before the coffin tanks came in. To be honest I was a dangerous young idiot on it and I apologise to any South East London residents who I annoyed during that boiling hot summer! Didn't half go though, compared with the cars of the time.

A few years back when I had my 3.6TDV8 Range Rover I pulled up to a set of lights on the A31 just outside Farnham. In the next lane was a chav mobile with massive fart can on the back sat there revving it's engine.

Well I couldn't resist and revved the V8. He glanced over and nodded. Lights went green, he got the jump on me, didn't look best pleased when 2 and three quarter tonne of Range Rover cruised past him. Should have seen the look on his face when the trailer with another Land Rover went past him as well.

Wait until the electric cars of today filter down to within reach of the yoof. It will be carnage at the lights.

Had a guy local to me that would arrive home around 2.30 AM several times a week in his mk2 Golf 1300, big bore exhaust , go faster air filter , bumpers removed( but not the bumper irons) and a massive boom box in the boot with the column at max all the time . I got my own back when I MOTd it and all of the failures were legit

I'm afraid I can't criticise anyone. I had a Ford Pop with a straight-through silencer (literally, you could look in one end and see out the other) fitted right onto the down pipe which I swung round to the offside.

Finished off with a m/cycle exhaust with all the baffles knocked out and exiting just in front of the rear wheel, allowing the arch to act as an echo chamber.

I had friends who lived 5 miles away I visited regularly, and wondered how the kettle was always hot when I arrived - "we hear you coming when you're two miles out" was the answer.....

So I’m really in to cars and love the max power era of cars

What I hate nowadays is air ride(on finance),
wheels(on finance)
detailing a car(washing it)
Awful stickers saying things like dope, broke boys etc

This does not make it a show car it’s mildly modified and even then looks rubbish

When I was younger I used to remove every badge/sticker possible.

Diesel v8’s are not a petrol v8 I don’t care how much better mpg you get you will never have the v8 burble I have

No but the thing with the TDV8 is you can hardly hear it so just enjoy the peace and quiet that befits a Range Rover. If I'd wanted loudness I'd have bought one of those chav mobile Sport thingies.

There's plenty of V8 petrol Range Rovers around.

I personally like taking out a Range Rover SVR for about 20 mins, after that it's 'wearing' and i'd rather be back in the quiet comfort of a 3.6 TDV8..... much to the annoyance of most of the Wermacht staff car drivers...

I like a big 4x4 with a proper v8 if I hadn’t brought my house my daily would have been a G55 amg supercharger but dressed down to a stock 4x4 so almost a sleeper I had one a long time back for a few months and it’s ten times the car a G63 could be
