Quickly made a keyring before I came home. Too long in the dye and too deep with the engraving but at least it showed me it is possible to cut it on the plasma.
Plasma took about 30 seconds, engraving took a minute or two, anodising 15mins, sealing took the longest at 30 mins

If you added Madagascar onto the side you could use it as a bottle opener...

Today (Or rather throughout the night) I made a great big mess in the fridge.

It was going to be a focaccia but I decided to get an early night so rather than shaping and cooking it, I knocked it back, clingfilmed it and stuck it in the fridge, thinking the coldness would slow the yeast and I could finish it in the morning. Not so.

Been there done that, cleaned up the sticky mess. Could have been worse, there was a pretty big one in Edinburgh a few years ago. Pizza place dumping their dough in a public food waste bin.

I even fitted the CV/CC board into a bit of box and removed the trimmers and added some 100K 10 turn pots, makes adjustment much easier than trying to mess around with a screwdriver

Today this turned up, courtesy of RH Nuttall.

I turned half of it into these, well the left hand ones anyway.

The first eared one took forever to make. Probably two hours. The second about 20 minutes since I then had a pattern. The circular one was 5 minutes. I'm so pleased I bought a linisher with sanding disc.

I also finished the repair to the C spanner which some gorilla had managed to snap. Hardened steel as well.

It used up some rusty old thick wall tubing that was in the garden and a little stub of 20mm stud from the scrap box. It should look quite tasty when it's blued.

I have been doing some hydraulic work on a boat lately (in around the rain we have had, about 500mm in three weeks) and can definitely say I'm over it. Haven't done much off that stuff for a few years and the owners got me in a moment of weakness and I said yes. Well back sore, arms sore legs aching, what doesn't hurt. I still have about 10 days to go to finish (will post some pics) not to mention every thing is covered in hydraulic oil and slippery. I felt chuffed to be asked though, which is why I probably said yes in the first place

I have had to give up a lot of work, knees just too knackered now for crawling into boats bilges etc. Not that I miss a lot of it, certainly not anything hydraulic oil related, it is the most horrible stuff out.

As you said working on hydraulic drives are the worst, I charge extra, or avoid.

Hydraulics are great when they work, a royal PITA, when they go wrong.

Today I concreted a base for a mate, my lads prepped it and laid the Acco‘s yesterday. Poured 15 ton of concrete this morning.View attachment 336086
