The Mrs wanted a bird table so I set about the task and using my engineering skills came up with this. A lump of 4x2 and a plastic tray...she looked at me in disgust and stormed of out. Came back with a new one. Just can't please some people's

My sisters new fella is a joiner, self employed, makes bespoke kitchens etc. She doesn't want to start asking favours of him just yet, so she has asked me to make some 'beds' to go on her house cat play tree thing in her back bedroom.

I think I'll nail a couple of rough pallet planks together crudely, and hope that joiner boy dives in and does a proper job to impress her.

Looking at all that food on the green tray, it is best to make sure it has gone by sunset. Otherwise, you need to invest in some No 4 Fenn traps and make some wooden box enclosures for the traps,

Screw that. Be chucking it back in the pantry.....things are getting tight lol

I made this in 2020 when the old one blew off the post in a gale. It's all scrap wood and didn't have any plan, it just grew as I did it. The roof is old fencing cut down. I used a cheap screwfix nail gun to hold the roof on and I thought I would soon be making something better but no, it has just stood up to Eunice's best 89.5 mph gust. It's dead easy to no make, no real wood working skills needed! I treated it which gives all the different scrap woods 'new' look.

And it includes proper welded metal which makes it better by definition! It would have to be nailed down to exist here in Cornwall though..

Our market square has hundreds, thousands, of the fat little porkers. Some old crone takes them a carrier bag full of scraps every day, so much food they can't eat it all. Reminds me of that scene in Mary Poppins....

Do the squirrels still manage to shin up the square tube and make it into the food tray ? Round here the only thing able to stop the squirrels raiding the bird table is a .22 RF
